We upgraded to a suite which included access to the Club Lounge, more on that below. This was our second stay at the hotel on this trip having stayed the night we flew in to Athens and prior to our flight to Rhodes the next morning. This stay was the night prior to a long day getting back to the US via London. As before, the room was excellent. Bed and pillows comfortable as heck. Having a completely separate sitting area always suits us as one of us who shall remain nameless, gets up before the other. As we were on the Club Lounge floor we had a plate of fruit delivered which was very nice. The food in the restaurant we ate at was good and all of the staff were excellent throughout the facility. Getting to and from the airport is a breeze and only a short walk and an escalator ride making it excellent for our needs. As will be explained below, for one night, the "basic" room is more than sufficient and comfortable and in retrospect we would likely not upgrade in the future.

What a great surprise! It has been a while since our last stay here and we found a renovated hotel with great facilities, very modern and very convenient.
The pool area and the restaurant were great, the food tasty and the prices reasonable. We took an upgrade for a deluxe room which includes, among others, late checkout. A highly recommended accommodation in a convenient location and great value for money.
A short walk from the Acropolis, 5-star Royal Olympic Hotel is located right in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and features an outdoor pool and a fitness center.

I appreciated the front-desk lady's action to let me and my family check into our room early at around 11:30 am. That was a big help as we got up at 4 am that day to fly into Athens.
Also, the hotel is at a prime location in Athens downtown with easy access to the Acropolis and restaurants.

I loved my visit to Athens. 21/2 days were not enough to see everything we had on our list. It's a beautiful (and large) city with lots of shopping, eating establishments and of course the historical side of the city. We did a couple of tours and still didn't get to see everything.

A very compact busy city.
A very compact busy city. Athens is dominated by the archaeological sites - apart from the shops there is little else!! Compared to say the Colosseum in Rome the Acropolis is quite small in area and expensive (this is true of all the old sites where everything is extra) and has very limited facilities - there are no toilets inside (NONE!!). fortunately (or sadly depending on your point of view) you can see everything in just over an hour. It is well worth going up on the viewpoints around the city (Nymphs Hill or Lycabetus Hill) as the views are stunning. Good value food can be found if you move away from the absolute center. Some museums are free (such as the War Museum) and are very good. It is a very easy city to walk around as the main tourist area is very compact. Do go to the Presidential Palace and watch the guards ('Evzones') on duty there - their marching and presentation is unique in the world - do not miss this.

Loved the short excursions in a comfortable bus with a nice tour guide to remind us of the amazing history of such an advanced culture.
I believe everyone needs to be exposed to history at an early age to comprehend history, mythology, astronomy, etc.,and the wonderful culture that used wisdom, education, democracy to serve as a good .example to the world.

Such a great historical city!
Such a great historical city! Easy to see most of the city centre within a few days but perfect location if you want to stay longer and do day trips from the city. Easy access to airport and to main port to get to other locations in Greece. Most attractions you can book online before hand to avoid having to queue to purchase tickets. So many restaurants and shops to visit too.

The place was very central. We could walk to the Acropolis! Can you imagine?! Restaurants and Cafés very near, but not in your face. Just locals.
Leaving it was heartbreaking!
Athens: I loved the people, the cultural experiences offered (theatre, museums, restaurants) and of course THE WEATHER! Oh my God, the sky! At night we had wine on the gorgeous flat terrace, it REALLY helped us wind down.
I want a flat of my own exactly like Ilissos Terrace: central, quite, clean, tasteful, in the middle of life in Athens!

Athens is great if you love history. The historical landmarks worth being visited.
The food is great. The beer is good. People are very nice.
The streets and roads are pretty bad. Some of the location are uphill so you need to walk/climb with some effort.

The best hotel we stayed on our trip to Greece. Super nice location ( in the street where Kook Restaurant is, so only few steps to the Bar and Restaurant area) Lovely hotel with beautiful and large rooms, wonderful and very nice owner, stunning rooftop bar (not serviced yet but is planned), all day free drinks (water, Juice) and food (croissants, snacks) Very good breakfast. This is our most favorite hotel in Athens and we would love to come back soon. This is how you should run a hotel :-)
Looked very good, was clean and had an amazing view! Would definitely recommend it for a trip to Athens. The top floor had a great view of the acropolis and was within walking distance from many Greek landmarks, including but not limited to:
The Acropolis
A variety of restaurants
The Olympic Stadium
For a city break and visit for Greece, this is the perfect hotel in every aspect!
This Hotel is simply amazing and worths way more than only 2-stars. Best breakfast that we had in whole Greece on a rooftop with stunning view over the Acropolis. Cosy and spacious and stylish rooms and located in the best neighborhood in Athens (at least in my opinion.) Best restaurants, nice little shops, authentic and no tourist atmosphere and only 1 metro-ride from monastiraki.
Incredible boutique hotel in the centre of Athens. Walking distance to the Acropolis, Syntagma, National Garden, Monastiraki and Plaka. Fantastic shopping on Ermou street where hotel is situated. Stunning view of the Acropolis on the rooftop restaurant. Incredible breakfast!
The staff was awesome and provided amazing service. Clean rooms with very comfy beds.
This place was great value- beautiful lobby and decor. Generous sized room with great bathroom. Excellent breakfast. This was the best hotel we stayed in Greece.
