Cleaning staff ensured the room was clean. I extended my stay and staff were helpful in telling me how to do it. Noise levels aren’t that bad for being in the city.

We stayed in downtown Flushing, Queens.

We stayed in downtown Flushing, Queens. Plenty of excellent Asian eateries and shopping. Getting around is easy. We took the LIRR from Flushing Main Street to Penn Station in Manhattan under 30 minutes. From Penn station, one can walk or take the subway one stop uptown to Broadway or downtown to SOHO, Chinatown or Wall Street.

We just slept in the hotel there.

We just slept in the hotel there. The hotels in Manhattan and close by were too expensive or had awful reviews. This one in Queens looked nice but we never went anywhere in the area except to walk to the subways and back. The hotel was a 15 minute walk between either 33 St Rawson St and Hunters Point Avenue Not much to see of any interest on the way to either of them. The odd deli or petrol station. We didn't visit any attractions in the Queens area.

Our visit to Queens was enjoyable and convenient. The area offers a good mix of local charm and accessibility to Manhattan. Plenty of food options, diverse neighborhoods, and a more relaxed pace compared to the city.

Long Island City is a fascinating place, in transition from a light industrial area to a vibrant residential city. It offers convenient access to LaGuardia Airport and Manhattan, making it a good choice for visitors wishing to avoid the frenzy and high prices of a stay in Manhattan.

Queens is a great place to stay—diverse, lively, and more relaxed than Manhattan. Getting around was super easy with reliable subway access. I enjoyed exploring different neighborhoods, especially Astoria and Jackson Heights for their amazing food scenes. I had some great meals at local diners and small family-run spots—so many authentic options! As a solo traveler, I loved walking through Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and checking out local museums. NYC has endless things to do, and Queens offers a quieter, affordable base to explore it all.

Excellent transportation, Manhattan is reachable within minutes by Subway. The Stations are close to the hotel. There is a convenience store across the street and there is an group of outlet stores (Marhalls, Old Navy and more) a couple of Subway stops or a brisk walk away at Astoria.

I had booked a double and asked if we could change to a twin when my mate didn't want to share a bed. They changed us to two queens for no extra cost. Absolute legends!! Room was massive, great TV selection, shower and bathroom were on point. Beds were super comfy and warm. We didn't use the food facilities but they looked great and you could order food to the hotel so that was a bonus.

The staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay. Arriving in busy Queens can be frazzling to say the least, but the reservation desk relaxed us, found solutions to our problems, and checked us in quickly. The hotel is comfortable and so close to the US Open arena and other great spots. They were even able to help us with parking.

Price was good even for Queens, far less than what you pay in Manhattan and still reachable by subway. Room was okey(ish), clean and relatively comfortable however, fairly noisy since the location of the hotel is right next to major highway
