FAQs about hotels in Manila

The City of Our Affections

With a rich mix of influences from Indian, Chinese, Spanish and American cultures, Manila is the vibrant capital of the Philippines and its cultural and economic center. Thanks to the trade with Latin America during the three centuries of Spanish colonization, Manila became an important city, known as the "Pearl of the Orient."

Don’t miss a visit to the Spanish remains in the Intramuros district. Important landmarks in the area are the Malacañan Palace, the City Hall, and the Manila Cathedral.

Rizal Park is a national icon, while the Baywalk promenade is great for enjoying the well-known city sunsets. Ermita and Malate districts are famous for the nightlife, trendy shopping and restaurants, as well as for some luxury Manila hotels. Between the promenade and the districts, its easy to see why Filipinos call Manila “The City of Our Affections,” where the people's love affairs with fashion, music, entertainment and sheer fun are on bright and beautiful display.

Divisoria is a traditional district for local shopping, bargains and typical food. Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world.

For hotels in Manila near the airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport is not far from Makati City.

Manila in general is a huge spread out City of millions and millions of people, traffic unbelievable , cabs /Grab/ are reasonable ,Grab more modern and an agreed price before ordering. Plenty of places to see and visit /depends on what you like and are interested in eg Fortumous area, old Manila, China Town , Cooloolcan Markets near Victoria Bus station and good reasonable dentists, barbers Shopping malls are good and plenty of choice.

Expect busy streets with a lot of traffic.

Expect busy streets with a lot of traffic. Use Grab for transportation. Went by the Bay of Manila Dolomite Beach, bummer nothing there expected at least some snack bars or something by the beach, not even a place to sit. Fast food etc.. across busy street. City could do better to make the bay area more enjoyable. Do not recommend for seniors.

I’ve been visiting Manila after a 10-year gap, and I’ve noticed how much the city has evolved. There are definitely more vehicles on the roads, and traffic has gotten much heavier. It can be frustrating at times, especially with the increasing number of riders on the streets, so be sure to be cautious when crossing roads. One thing that stood out is how many new malls have popped up! It’s incredible to see so much growth, but it also means the places are now overcrowded. Even the high-end malls and streets are packed with people. If you’re not a fan of crowds, this can be a bit overwhelming. Also, a word of caution—be mindful of pickpockets. As with any busy city, it’s important to stay alert, especially in crowded areas. Overall, Manila has definitely changed, and while it offers a lot of conveniences, the traffic and crowds are something to consider when planning your trip.

I've visited parts of manila, but on this travel, I stayed mainly in the Makati district more for the modern conveniences. The foods unique to the Philippines are considered comfort food for me and I always look forward to coming back for the food and friendly people.

I have found that Manila is a gigantic metropolis.

I have found that Manila is a gigantic metropolis. There are many places to visit like Rizal park and a complex of museums in the park. For your information, the museums are free of entrance fee. Also, there are catholic churchs that are beautifully decorated. If you are a shopper, Manila consists of many mega malls everywhere for you to enjoy. However, I have noticed that the city may be crownded with homelesses and train in Manila in always crownded. Please be aware of it. Still, I loved characters of the people of the Philipphines. They are lively and joyful. Most of all, they love to sing and that is so the great character of them.

If you are staying in the hotel for any reason, you should go for dinner and have breakfast. It was the best breakfast I had in my life in the hotel, and I travelled to many hotels already. The food is quite expensive but can ask for an offer and always gives you a very attractive deal. From the reviews, it is one of the best hotels in Manila
