If you want a quiet beach town experience, this is the hotel for you. Good restaurants, bars, a fishing pier and the beach are all within walking distance. The hotel provides beach chairs and umbrellas on loan free of charge. I've stayed at several Holiday Inn Express hotels but this one has the best breakfast. The gentleman running the breakfast area made sure everyone was happy and passed around fresh fruit cups in addition to the many available food items. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff was very helpful.

St. Augustine has so many things to do there.
St. Augustine has so many things to do there. You could easily spend a week there and not get bored. We were there for about 2 days. We were able to visit the lighthouse, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the old St. Augustine shops. We also ate at 3 restaurants. It was a very nice trip. Not long enough, but had to get back.

Loved the history, but hated that everything cost so much money..didnt expect to have to pay to look at Fort.. Take walking shoes, parking is hard to find and you walk quite a distance... We went to state manatus park and rode free ferry to small fort, it is free and very educational

We took this route to The Keys so we were just passing thru.
We took this route to The Keys so we were just passing thru. I've passed thru before but with others leading the show so I never had the chance to explore the city. But being an architecture freak I wanted to see a few things before we carried on with our journey. And it does not disappoint! We checked out some of Forsyth Park, Bridge of Lions, the outside of St. Augustine Lighthouse, ate at Gaufre's & Goods (Greek & Polish food - super yummy!), and a little of Aviles Street - all of which have me wanting to explore them more as well as all the things we didn't have time for. The trees with the Spanish moss create such a comforting feeling as they overhang many streets, not to mention their interesting limbs and beauty. I thought this would be a one and done experience but we now plan on visiting again in the future. It's just so beautiful and an architecture freak and history buff's dream.

I like d St Augustine.
I like d St Augustine. I wish I was in better physical health or at least remember to take my cane with me. For me, it was difficult to walk great distances! I think it is a trip that I will have to arrange to make again for a longer period of time so I can break it up over the course of a few days instead of trying to get it all done at once that I needed to do on this trip. I had lunch at Harry's. New orlean based and very delicious. They were able to modify my shrimp and grits because of my allergy to bell peppers and the fried green tomatoes were so good

Overall the hotel was clean and well maintained. Normally there is no refrigerator or microwave in the room, but they can provide one if you request it and we did manage to get them in our room.
We really appreciated the fact that we were within walking distance to the historic downtown, restaurants and attractions.
we stayed in the beachfront houses - the view was fabulous, the breakfast was great. We liked the feeling of being away from the hussle of the main town but still having available in town
We liked the hotel as it has the oldest oak tree in St. Augustine and it has of the the trolley stops (tour) so it's very convenient if you are taking the trolley tour.
