I was there for the RiverBeat concert in Memphis. I've been to Memphis many times and thought i had done it all. I took a riverboat cruise, that was amazing and cheap. I also tried the best place that I've ever had Memphis BBQ at this place called Rendezvous in downtown Memphis. You will see the moniker on the building, but the entrance is in the alley behind. Super cool vibe and atmosphere. But most of all the food was AMAZING!!! Being a solo traveler i had a ball on this trip.

the indigenous peoples to West Memphis - the workers there - made it abundantly clear AND QUICKLY that a caucasian male is either a) not welcome there, or b) tolerated but barely. I left them no clues - no slogans on my clothing, no words from my mouth, no visual sneers, no verbal aggravations - I was contrite and cooperative. I learned a valuable lesson that even in 2025, we're still back in the 1960's in West Memphis. So. Goodbye West Memphis, Arkansas - gone from my life forever. I guarantee you that so very many other caucasians are being greeted with the same native angst. West Memphis: you are well known!

This location was convenient for the event we were attending at the Metal Museum in Memphis, a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum, and a walking tour of Beale Street. It was about a ten minute drive.
We ate at Margaritas across the interstate from the hotel and enjoyed
the meal.

The "not-so-great" is that we requested linens for the pull-out couch and the clerk said we could come get it. I was already in my pjs so we did without and my grandson took pillowcases off the extra pillows and made a "blanket" out of that.
Otherwise, the room was clean, spacious, and adequate. The breakfast area was large, well-equipped, and the food was fresh and hot.

They will make you feel less than a human.
They will make you feel less than a human. They do not like people from Memphis, Tennessee. If you had a long trip and you are tired they will not let you stay there if you are from Memphis, Tennessee they told us we not allowed or welcomed to be on their property but they allow us to book the hotel we was very tired and needed rest. In so many words they was like we hate you people and that was the first time we ever met ????? It was a very sad experience.

New hotel right off the interstate. Plenty of restaurants located around the hotel so we didn't have to go far. One thing we didn't realize when we booked was that West Memphis was in Arkansas. We chose this area so we were ready to head north on the interstate in the morning vs driving through Memphis morning rush hour which was perfect. We felt very safe staying here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed talking to the breakfast lady who was very upbeat. Highly recommend this hotel.
