We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

To all my fellow travellers: don't miss this place. And of course, I have to mention the team who made everything to ensure that I had a good stay. For example, I received a warm welcome with fresh fruit mocktail and warm towel, they offered a little lunchpack for the safari, were extremely flexible with dinner and breakfast time, and put me in contact with the Ellie, a wonderful young guide who showed me around, took me for a brochette and some banana wine after the safari.

I loved that it was a women owned eco resort. No plastic water bottles. The staff was wonderful. Helped me beyond belief getting the tour I really wanted with a great guide. Good food and even an espresso machine!!!
